January 2025
Author Update
Big news this January: I've officially kicked into beast mode on the final edits for Blood of the Forgotten. Projects have taken a comfy spot on the back burner as I tackle this last full round of edits. After this? A proofing session with my husband—because two pairs of eyes are better than one (and his ability to spot sneaky typos is borderline supernatural). I can confidently say IT WILL BECOME AVAILABLE THIS YEAR.
Oh, and guess what? I’m opening up slots for ARC readers soon! If you’re into a story about a broken man who kills demons teaming up with a demon-possessed girl (yes, you read that right), where they must face a cold, calculating Mafia leader and unravel the mystery of the demon targeting our brooding MMC... let me know! I’d love for you to join the chaos, err, I mean adventure.
In other exciting news, Riley’s Perfect Purpose is now available in my shop! It’s a heartwarming children’s story, and I’m thrilled to share that sales are going strong. Insert happy dance here. Better yet, I may even get to do an in-person reading at a school soon—fingers crossed!
That’s all for now. Until next time, keep reading, keep dreaming, and don’t forget to grab your copy of Riley’s Perfect Purpose.
Giggles & Groans
What do you call a snowman with abs?
An abdominal snowman.
Snack Attack
Okay, let’s set the scene: snowflakes drifting outside, hot cocoa bubbling away, and you—cozy in your writing nook or curled up with a book. But what’s this? Your stomach grumbling louder than your imagination can keep up with? Never fear! Here’s a snack that’s perfect for snow days: Cinnamon Apple Bites with a Touch of Honey.
Why these? Oh, let me count the ways. First off, apples are the unsung heroes of the healthy snack world. Packed with fiber, they’ll keep you sharp as your plot twists. The cinnamon? A literary level of warm spice that sends your brain into overdrive. And just a drizzle of honey? Pure magic. It keeps your energy high and your fingers typing (or turning pages) without a sugar crash. The best part? You don’t even have to leave your cozy lair—just slice, spice, and nibble. You’ll be lost in your words or your book faster than you can say "snow day snack attack!"
So, grab that apple, sprinkle on the cinnamon, add a tiny drizzle of honey, and let the writing (or reading) magic unfold. Trust me, your muse will thank you. Happy snowed-in snacking!
Tunes & Text
Let’s talk music. Because let’s be honest, writing or reading without the right soundtrack is like a cowboy without his boots—it's just wrong. That’s why I’ve got you covered with two chef’s kiss playlists right here on my website under the Books tab. Yep, I listen to these while I’m working on my manuscripts, but if you need a little musical magic for your own projects or reading sessions, I'm your go-to playlist guru.
First up: Blood of The Forgotten – If you’re craving modern-day paranormal fantasy vibes (think brooding heroes, hidden powers, and mysterious adventures), this playlist is like the soundtrack to your most thrilling daydreams. It's got everything from the early 2000s to today's hits, so it’ll keep your creativity flowing with the perfect amount of mystery.
Next: The Blessèd Outlaws: Heart Box Amulet – Now, if you’re planning to get lost in the Wild West with a side of fantasy magic, this one’s for you. Think dusty trails, steampunk airships, and a dash of enchantment. With western tunes that echo the wild frontier and some subtle fantasy undertones, it's the perfect blend to accompany your writing or reading!
So, whether you’re plotting your next great adventure, writing about shadowy realms, or simply reading in your cozy nook, just hit play on these playlists. Your inspiration will thank you, and I’ll be here rocking out alongside you.
Verses and Victories
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
— Jeremiah 29:11
As we step into this new year, remember: God’s got a plan. It’s a good one. You might not know all the details yet, but trust that He’s already preparing a path filled with hope and promise. Whatever goals you’ve set, whatever dreams you’re chasing, know that the Lord is walking with you every step of the way.
Here’s the challenge: Take a moment today to reflect. Write down 3 things you want to see happen this year, big or small. Now, think about how you can align those things with His purpose for your life. It’s a fresh start—filled with potential. Let this be the year you trust in God’s plan and take bold steps forward, knowing He’s with you every step of the way.
Prompts to start your year right:
What does “hope” look like for you in 2025?
What can you do this week to take a step toward the future God is calling you to?
How can you invite God into your plans and dreams this year?
